Qualifications

Marty Vander Vliet, Northport Security’s founder, is a former Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent with over 26 years of federal law enforcement experience. He investigated high profile cases involving bank robberies, violent crime, and narcotics, and also served as an Undercover Agent and SWAT team member.

Marty was certified as an FBI Technical Agent and was responsible for implementing electronic surveillance on hundreds of cases. He then attended and graduated from the Interagency Training Center, and was certified as a Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) expert. This training exposed him to the most advanced eavesdropping technology available.

Marty’s education includes a B.A. from Calvin College in Political Science and Criminal Justice, and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School. He most recently completed training to become a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through ASIS International.
